A good idea that needs editing, “Life Skills for Kids”, by Karen Harris, is written for 8-12 year olds and the graphics look like they are targeted for the younger ended of the range。 They are cute enough but sadly, there is no, (or maybe 1?), representation of multi racial or differently abled kids to be found。 The vocabulary is geared for older kids。 While I applaud the inclusion of definitions for unfamiliar words and concepts, they often include unknown items or those things being defined。 A A good idea that needs editing, “Life Skills for Kids”, by Karen Harris, is written for 8-12 year olds and the graphics look like they are targeted for the younger ended of the range。 They are cute enough but sadly, there is no, (or maybe 1?), representation of multi racial or differently abled kids to be found。 The vocabulary is geared for older kids。 While I applaud the inclusion of definitions for unfamiliar words and concepts, they often include unknown items or those things being defined。 Additionally, the grammar is really rough and in the 2nd sentences of the book’s first paragraph in chapter 1, there is an error, (“Here’s are an example。” - text and punctuation), that should be corrected ASAP, at least in the Kindle copy I reviewed。If the publisher takes the step to edit this volume, it would be a great service for the Table of Contents to be interactive with the book for the purpose of easily accessing specific topics。 This book doesn’t have to be read in page order to be effective。Topics include: personal & interpersonal skills, family, school and work life skills, time management, finances and more。 Well organized information in short chapters that won’t overwhelm with regular reminders to seek input from adults; kudos to the author for that📚 。。。more
